Soprano, Amy Cofield, is a highly sought after performer and teacher. Praised by the New York Times for her "lovely, rich tone," Ms. Cofield has performed to critical acclaim across the U.S. and in Italy, France, Croatia, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Austria, England, Santo Domingo, Guam, Taiwan and Japan. Highly regarded for her technical facility, beauty of interpretation and an arresting presence, her operatic roles have included Violetta, Cleopatra, Micaela, Lucia di Lammermoor, Elcia (cover in Rossini’s Moses in Egypt), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Mimi, Rosalinda, Cunegonde, Susannah, Musetta, Pamina, Adina, Gilda, Norina, Konstanze, and Belinda in the opera/oratorio, The Rape of the Lock (Alexander Pope), by NY composer Deborah Mason. Credits include performances with Houston Grand Opera where she covered Renee Fleming’s Traviata, New York City Opera, Fort Worth Opera, Lyric Opera San Antonio, Pro Cantus Lyric Opera (TX), Indiana Opera North, Annapolis Chamber Orchestra and Chorale, Teatro Lirico D'Europa, Knoxville Opera, Nevada Opera, Greensboro Light Opera, and Opera Roanoke.


Ms. Cofield’s concert performances have included works by Mozart: Requiem, Mass in C Minor, Beethoven: 9th Symphony, Mass in C, Brahms: Requiem, Orff: Carmina Burana, Einhorn: Voices of Light, Haydn: Creation, Lord Nelson Mass, The Seasons, Ravel: Sheherazade, Mendelssohn: Elijah, St. Paul Oratorio, Bach: Magnificat, St. John and St. Mathew Passions, Handel: Messiah, Judas Maccabaeus. Ms. Cofield appeared with Festival Chamber Music in recital at Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall and with The Masterwork Chorus (NJ) at Carnegie Hall, the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis Chamber Orchestra and Chorale, Tucson Masterworks Chorale, Southern Nevada Musical Arts Society, Garden State Philharmonic, Fort Wayne Philharmonic, Virginia Symphony, Virginia Arts Festival, Norfolk Chamber Consort, Opera Camerata of Washington, Tulsa Symphony, and Roanoke Symphony Orchestra where she returns to sing Mozart’s Requiem in 2020.


Recent debuts included performances in Broadway concerts with Space Coast Symphony (FL) where she returns for Villa Lobos’ Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 in 2019, and in Bach’s B Minor Mass with the Brevard Symphony Chorus and Orchestra where she returns for Handel’s Messiah in 2019. Additional engagements for the 2019/20 season include a recital tour (FL): A Grand Night For Grand Opera, a debut with Opera Orlando performing the role of Minnie in a site specific production of The Girl of the Golden West at Cheyenne Saloon and Opera House, as well as a return to Opera Roanoke for the role of Blanche in Andre Previn’s  A Streetcar Named Desire.
